Planning a destination wedding in Jamaica? You're probably imagining ocean views, jerk chicken and lazy days by the pool.
But in between all that dreamy Pinterest scrolling, reality kicks in and you wonder... Wait, wait, wait.. Do we need a travel agent or a wedding planner?
Let’s break it down: what a destination wedding travel agent does, how it’s different from a destination wedding planner and why you need both.

What does a destination wedding planner do?
A destination wedding planner is someone who specializes in planning weddings in different locations around the world.
They can help you with everything from finding and booking your venue, to hiring vendors, coordinating logistics, designing your décor and managing your budget.
A destination wedding planner can also handle any legal requirements or paperwork that might be involved in getting married abroad.

What does a destination wedding travel agent do?
Here’s what I take off your plate as a destination wedding travel agent:
Resort research and group booking
You won’t be Googling “best all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica” for days on end. I help you find the right resort for your style, group size, and budget and I handle all the booking logistics.
Room blocks + perks
I negotiate with the resort to get you a block of rooms and any perks you’re eligible for like free nights or room upgrades.
Guest coordination
Your guests will have questions and lots of them. I answer them all, so you don’t have to research or call/email the resort for an answer.
Flights + airport transfers
I help your guests figure out the best flight options and make sure they have transportation from the airport to the resort and back.
Travel insurance
Because things happen. I’ll walk you and your guests through insurance options so you’re protected from the unexpected.
Are destination wedding travel agents free?
Some are, some aren’t. It depends on the level of service and support they offer.
If you're just looking for someone to book rooms, you’ll likely find travel agents who don’t charge a fee.
But if you want more hands-on help, like guest communication, travel troubleshooting, personalized recommendations and a clear process from start to we’re back home, that often comes with a fee.
You can see exactly what’s included in my services (and what it costs) right here.
Also worth noting: If you’re getting married at an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, your wedding package will include a resort wedding coordinator, so you don’t need to hire a separate wedding planner unless you're getting married off resort, you want more customization or hands-on design support.
